Who Is Naki?

Naki is a Wolf-girl kept within the walls of a hidden shrine. The shrine’s caretakers tell the story of them finding her left at the gate of the shrine grounds when she was a baby. Due to her wolf ears and tail, she’s unable to interact with the world directly and must stay confined within the shrine in the mountains. Naki’s been told she could enter civilization only when she finds a way to hide her wolf features.

For years, Naki stayed within the walls, learning about the world from afar. The shrine’s caretakers treated her as a child of the shrine, providing various items from the outside world to bring Naki as close to it as possible. From books, films/documentaries, delicious delights, etc. to help her live comfortably. With only the shrine as her home, Naki spends her time enjoying these gifts, walking through the gardens, baking and of course chores. Though these glimpses of life were not enough. They only made her more intrigued with the world and searching for a solution to her predicament.

Since Naki was young, the shrine caretakers have kept a secret hidden room away for hundreds and hundreds of years. They've done everything in their power to make her comfortable. She’s free to do as she pleases within the shrine grounds if she did her chores, completed her studying, took care of the gardens, etc. Though this freedom was only kept if she followed two rules. One: Never leave the shrine grounds for it was too dangerous. Two: Never enter the sacred quarters of the shrine. The talisman-adorned doors to the area were prohibited to her. Even with the warning, Naki’s curiosity drew her closer every year to see what was inside. Countless times she tried when she was younger, wanting to enter the quarters but with no avail while someone was secretly keeping watch.

As she got older, her mind continued to fill with thoughts of what could be inside. She even started to dream of her entering; waking up right when they would open. She could hear whispers calling for her every night as she slept. One night, she was plagued with this same dream once again to only wake up in the middle of the night. She decided to go to the doors of the quarters. With surprise, these locked doors opened to reveal a records room. Once inside, it’s filled with scrolls and books of the past. Stories of creatures and gods the caretakers’ ancestors had supposedly fought against. One had a name she was familiar with but didn’t know from where. It told the story of a goddess brought to the world with the sole purpose of flooding its veins with chaos; destroying it from the inside out till it was black as the night’s sky. The familiar whispers filled her head, but she couldn’t understand what they were saying. The more she read, the more it seemed real.

As her curiosity carried her, she found a secret door in the floor of the room leading to a mysterious pathway beneath the shrine grounds. The pathway leads her to an oversized room, almost a tomb with a stone/crystalized centered on a rock structure, surrounded by water. She could hear the whispers once again, flashes of memories never seen before coming through. Before she knew it, Naki was standing in front of this crystalized stone. She touched it and the darkness hiding the truth was released from her mind and heart.

Naki learns of her true self; the goddess she read about. Her body is the host for a powerful goddess/deity soul who hasn’t awakened until that night. Hundreds of years ago, the goddess brought chaos and war to the land, destroying everything in her path. She was successfully defeated by the guardians of the land who have now descended to the shrine caretakers. As they were to kill the goddess, her soul encapsulated itself into a crystalized stone that was watched over and kept beneath the shrine into the mountains. One day, it shattered revealing a child manifested within it. They had realized that the goddess had reincarnated into Naki. With such innocence before them, they decided to raise her, hoping she would grow in goodness and never awaken to her true self. However, they were always prepared to make the hard decision if the goddess had returned and threatened humanity once again.

With her discovery, Naki has partially awakened this goddess who is now fighting to take back control of her host and finish what she started many years ago. However, Naki is determined to show the light of the world and change the goddess’ heart. She is determined to control such power and finally enter the world she never knew. Will she be able to or will this goddess take back the body & power she has longed for?

Origin of the Chaotic Goddess

Thousands of years ago, there was a wolf living across the land of Orano. She was chosen by the gods to take care of it, providing safety and love to all who lived there. One day, she realized how lonely she was while watching humans live with one another, finding joy and excitement each day. She asked the gods for a blessing to walk the earth as the people who lived there. One full moon, her wish was granted. They allowed her to walk the earth as a beautiful woman entrancing all who’ve seen her and continue having the power to protect Orano. She had her wolf ears and tail but could hide them with her power. She finally found herself enjoying a new world. Through her journey, she met a mere farmer who she became fond of and he to her. They fell in love with each other; the greatest gift the world had given her.

However, the ruler of Orano was a wealthy narcissistic man; known to get everything he wanted. Man, woman, livestock, gold, anything he showed favor for would either be given or who honorably give themselves over to him. The ruler had seen this beautiful woman when she was helping her love offer their livestock to him. He became obsessed offering her everything; money, clothing, power beyond her wildest dreams. She declined every time. His obsession grew and devised a devilish plan. He drafted the woman’s love into a military advancement/mission needing his knowledge of the terrain for an ambush attack. However, this plan was to rid of him and have the woman he desired.

The farmer had been gone for days, the woman worried every hour for her love’s safety. Till one day, she felt something was wrong. Her power given by the gods swiftly led her to the battlefield where she found him with a sword through his stomach. The woman holds him in her arms, a bloody tear falling down her cheek. How could the gods allow this? How could the place she protected take away what her heart was. With this, hatred grew in her and made her strong, she became a creature that darkness ate at her. Her body morphing into the representation of her pain; the bloody tear imprinted on her cheek.

She goes to see the ruler, with nothing left. She offers herself and the ruler is very pleased, commanding a grand feast and celebration. She held her power back until the evening the ruler summoned her to take pleasure in her flesh. When the most vulnerable, she slits his throat with her evolved nails into claws as her now golden eyes reflect in his slowly lifeless ones. As her body is covered in blood and his body goes limp, she realizes the pain is still there. Her love is still gone. So, her lost twisted heart pointed to the world to blame. If it wasn’t for their greed and lust, she would still have him. So, she goes off to clear the world of darkness. She wanted to destroy all of it and that turned her love into power to cause chaos.

She fell into war with the world, the gods abandoned them, the divine guardians fought against her for hundreds of years. Until one day, her body grew closer to death and to save her final breath, her body and power encapsulated into a crystal structure rooted through the ground. The divine guardians couldn’t destroy the crystal and created a safety barrier to watch over it and wait for the chaotic goddess to awaken. Hundreds of years went by and suddenly the crystal cracked revealing a baby with wolf ears and a tail (like the normal design) there. Instead of killing her, they decided to raise this reincarnation outside of civilization in hopes of the goddess inside of her to die through her new founded love for the world.
